Also, apparently Mr. Picky-I-won’t-try-anything likes dog biscuits. Koda hunny, what is wrong with you? xD
So the whole swollen neck thing was just a false alarm. Koda has gained a whole pound since the summer and weighed in at 2.2 lbs. Willow was 2 lbs. All is right with the world. :)
I really hope Koda is just suddenly super fluffy and fat, and not showing early signs of juvenile ferret lymphosarcoma. :( I just came home from a week of state active duty and it looks like his neck is swollen…
getting an appointment ASAP. They’re both due for their distemper shots anyway—though honestly it’s not like there are many options if he does have it….
The birthday girl and her big brother wrestling in my grocery bag. xD

While others are out there buying new computers and fancy electronics with their tax refund…
I went and ordered a ferret nation cage for my fuzzbutts. <3
Because I was going to get them one for Christmas but car troubles ruined my chances of that.
Buuuuut, they’ll have to wait until April to live in it because we’re moving to a new apartment it’ll be easier getting it up the stairs if it’s still in its box, lol.
(Did I mention it’s a one bedroom apartment and they’re getting the bedroom to themselves? Spoiled ferrets are spoiled.)

At the Petco I work at, we decided to try out a new weekly event: FERRET PLAYTIME!
The store ferrets can finally get out and stretch their legs and play with some cool toys. People get to watch and be amused and maybe bring their fuzzies to play as well. But most of all, we can use this event as a way to educate people on ferrets and increase the chance of them going to a proper, educated home.
I don’t necessarily agree with the stocking and selling of ferrets, since I consider them to be in the same care category as dogs and cats, but the least I can do is make sure they go to good homes. Ferret Playtime is sure to help.
Also, I made the sign, hand-drawn ferret and all! YAY. :B
I wish all petcos would do this. Ferrets need to play plus then people would realize how cool they are!
What a great idea! And that’s some really nice artwork as well!
I’ve grown more and more alarmed at the way ferrets are stocked. I went to my local Petco recently and they had 8+ ferrets stuffed in this aquarium, cedar shavings and all. ;p The house wasn’t big enough for all of them so a bunch were just lying on top of each other out in the open and one was sprawled out in the litter pan. Another little pet store in the mall requires proof of adequate caging for their hamsters/rodents, but they had two kits in that looked way too young to be sold. One was trying to suckle on the other’s ear. The sign said they were three months old, but they were much smaller than Willow was when I brought her home, and she was 3 months old at the time. :-c

OMGGGGGG I just saw the cutest Black eyed white and Black Sable Mitt (bib included) at the local pet store—they were so healthy looking and so adorable, and they were wrestling like crazy. I wanted to bring the black mitt home so bad but I would feel so terrible seperating them. xD Also, I need a bigger cage…
I may be in trouble if I go back to find that only one of them is left though. ^_^; I did eventually want a total of three fuzzies… >:3
My only trick or treater this year! ;)
